Wash and dry with a lint free cloth or paper towel.
Place the watermelon sideways on the chopping board, you can cut off the tips. I usually skip that part. Cut it into two equal halves by slicing right down the middle.
If you intend to remove the rind, place watermelon cut face down on the chopping board, slice off the rind from top to bottom making sure to go as deep as the rind. Skip this step of your are not slicing off the rind.
Instead cut into disks and cut into desired shapes see the following methods.
Into triangles
Cut off ends of watermelon then slice into two equal parts
Slice each half into round disks.
Place a disk at a time on the chopping board.
Cut into 4 parts then 8 and you have your watermelon triangles or wedges.
Into sticks
Cut watermelon into halves.
Place fruit cut side down on the cutting board.
Slice from top to down creating semi circles.
Place the semi circular watermelon flat on the board and cut into sticks.
Into cubes
Repeat the first three steps used when cutting into sticks.
Then reposition the sticks and cut across into cubes. See collage above for visual guidance.
